Tails on Trails is back and bigger than ever — and this year, we’re turning the hike into a full-blown fall festival for pet lovers!

Whether you're showing up to celebrate your furry best friend, hiking to help pets in need, or just joining the fun with fellow animal lovers—this event is for you.

What to Expect:
Choose Your Challenge — 2 or 4 mile hikes through the beautiful forest trails of Baker Creek Preserve. All levels welcome — families, solo hikers, and pups on leash!
Memorial Walk — Honor pets who’ve crossed the rainbow bridge with a peaceful 0.8-mile loop, a memory wall, and space to share your gratitude.
Adoption Event — Meet adorable cats and dogs looking for their forever homes.
Vendor Market + Food Trucks — Grab a bite, sip something warm, and shop local pet vendors and handmade goods.
Live Music + Pet Demos — Enjoy a vibrant mix of acoustic tunes and animal-inspired fun.
The Golden Paw Awards — Celebrate local heroes making a difference in the pet world.
Pet Supply Drive — Hikers are invited to carry 10 pounds of pet food or supplies in their backpack to donate to local shelters.

Why We Hike:
Tails on Trails raises money for the Nomar & Mia Compassion Fund, an emergency vet care fund through the University of Tennessee Vet School that helps low-income pet parents facing heartbreaking medical decisions. We also support local shelters by encouraging adoptions and donating much-needed supplies.

This event is inspired by the bond between humans and animals—and by two special cats, Nomar and Mia, who left behind a legacy of love. Their story lives on in every step we take.
