Are you ready to smell some fresh mountain air....listen to the roaring creek....feast your eyes on beautiful moss-covered boulders....or destress? Then Let's Hike!
Please join me for another outdoor nature outing at Lamar Alexander Rocky Fork State Park in Unicoi County. Starting on the main trailhead, we will be emerged alongside a beautiful creek with deep pools and eddies and those moss-covered boulders. The Rocky Fork watershed is within an Appalachian cove forest, which is one of the most biologically diverse habitats in North America, with the Cherokee National Forest surrounding the park and it also serves as one of the gateways to the Appalachian Trail.
Please bring a lunch, water bottle, and whatever you might need to feel comfortable for this time together. Plan to meet in the Shakti parking lot at 9:30 am, to carpool to Rocky Fork State Park, which will take approximately half an hour, give or take (22 miles from Shakti). No particular agenda, other than time in nature and with one another.
I hope you can join me!
